Community Rules
1 - Player Behavior (Applies to Discord and Server)
Section titled “1 - Player Behavior (Applies to Discord and Server)”1.1. Toxic Behavior
Section titled “1.1. Toxic Behavior”This includes but is not limited to: Spamming, explicit sexual/NSFW content and discussions, excessive harassment of a player frequently and consistently, using racial slurs, severe bullying, excessive insults or particularly harsh insults pertaining to real life (e.g, telling a player the world is better off without them in real life). If a player is found to have engaged in severely toxic behavior before joining WorldMC we are allowed to pre-emptively punish them in any way we see fit. Keep it in the boundaries of the server and remember this is just a game.
1.2. Advertising
Section titled “1.2. Advertising”Do not advertise anything not related to WorldMC when using WorldMC services.
1.3. Sharing personal information about yourself or others
Section titled “1.3. Sharing personal information about yourself or others”Do not reveal any personal information about yourself or another player. If you are not sure what you are about to do will fall under this rule, then play it safe and do not do it.
1.4. No real-world trading, selling, or purchasing in-game items for real money.
Section titled “1.4. No real-world trading, selling, or purchasing in-game items for real money.”Example: Selling gold for real life money or vice versa.
1.5. Impersonating Staff/Players
Section titled “1.5. Impersonating Staff/Players”Pretending to be another player or staff member to put yourself at a gameplay advantage or to deceive others beyond the extent of a quick and harmless joke is not allowed.
1.6. Punishment regarding behavior outside of official WMC services.
Section titled “1.6. Punishment regarding behavior outside of official WMC services.”If behavior is severe enough, it can still lead to consequences. This includes but is not limited to: players doxxing someone in a group chat outside of WMC services, or discussing how to make lag machines to crash the server in a nation Discord.
2 - Cheating and Exploiting
Section titled “2 - Cheating and Exploiting”2.1. Disrupting server stability.
Section titled “2.1. Disrupting server stability.”This includes but is not limited to: Lag machines, duplication glitches, exploits that give an unfair advantage.
2.2. Alternate Minecraft accounts
Section titled “2.2. Alternate Minecraft accounts”Do not play this server on more than one account. If you ever need to switch accounts, make a ticket and communicate this with staff.
2.3. Knowingly benefitting from others breaking rules
Section titled “2.3. Knowingly benefitting from others breaking rules”Withholding information about serious rule-breaking may result in punishment. Some examples include but are not limited to: Taking gold you know is duped, knowing someone is x-raying but not reporting them, collaborating with someone you know is an alt.
2.4. Modified clients.
Section titled “2.4. Modified clients.”For example: Fullbright is allowed, Optifine is allowed, Litematica is allowed. X-ray resource packs are banned. Use common sense and ask questions if you are unsure in a ticket on the Discord.
3 - Towny Rules
Section titled “3 - Towny Rules”3.1. Nation Naming.
Section titled “3.1. Nation Naming.”Nation names must be named after a current or past nation. The capital of your nation in game must be within the borders of the real life nation you chose. Example: "Mongol_Empire" is allowed, but do not have the capital outside of territory that the Mongol Empire once controlled. "Atlantis" is not allowed as a nation name. If the staff team needs you to prove a nation’s historical existence, a Wikipedia page is good evidence. A nation you are not allowed to make is "Nazi Germany".
3.2. Town naming
Section titled “3.2. Town naming”Fictional town names do not need to worry about this. A nonfictional town name must be at least fairly close to the real life location. For example, a town can not be named "Paris" if it is located in India. For very popular town names, towns are also not allowed to use “loopholes”. For example, naming a WMC town "Berlin" in Ohio would not be allowed, despite Berlin, Ohio existing in real life.
3.3. Griefing
Section titled “3.3. Griefing”Griefing is the deliberate act of destroying a player’s creations without their consent. The destruction of transportation infrastructure (ice roads, railways, canals, or other modes of transportation) that connect two or more consenting areas will be punished especially harshly, as it is vital to the stability of the server.
3.4. Looting
Section titled “3.4. Looting”Looting areas inside town claims or in wilderness is allowed, as long as you do not grief. You are allowed to “loot” by taking valuable blocks as well, but non-valuable blocks do not fall under looting. For example, if you find a house made out of gold blocks, you can take all the gold blocks. If a house is made out of wood and glass, you can not take all the wood and claim you were “looting” it. Valuable blocks only.
3.5. Claimblocking
Section titled “3.5. Claimblocking”Do not claim land just to block someone else off from the land. You should only claim in a way that you genuinely intend to expand, not to simply stop others from taking it.
3.6. Terraforming
Section titled “3.6. Terraforming”You can not significantly change the natural shape of the Earth’s land and oceans, especially if it impacts the view from the Dynmap. (e.g, no artificial islands, no manmade oceans in the middle of a desert). Very minor changes may be allowed, like making a coastline slightly smoother. You can change the Earth’s appearance in “natural” ways, such as owning a 1000 chunk town and having it full of buildings.
3.7. Game breaking traps.
Section titled “3.7. Game breaking traps.”If a trap, such as a spawn trap, makes a player permanently stuck and unable to play, it is not allowed. If a trap results in the player dying upon login, or gives the person in the trap a way to escape, that is allowed.
