Nations

Form or join a nation to ally with other towns, share resources, and coordinate on the Earth-scale map.

  • Protection — allies help defend your town
  • Economy — shared trade routes and resources
  • Coordination — plan large projects together
  • Influence — larger nations have more power

Form a nation when:

  • You have multiple allied towns ready to join
  • You want to coordinate expansion
  • You’re ready to manage nation-level taxes and diplomacy

Ask a nation leader to invite your town:

/nation invite <town>

Or join an existing nation:

/nation join <nation>

Create a nation with:

/nation new <name>

Cost: 4096 gold (one-time creation fee)

Then invite other towns to join.

Nations have a 5000 block radius from the capital town’s home block. However, nations can expand beyond this initial radius through a chain system.

How the chain works:

  • The capital town has a 5000 block radius for initial invites
  • Each town in the nation has a 1500 block radius from its home block
  • Towns can invite other towns within their 1500 block radius, even if those towns are outside the capital’s 5000 block radius
  • This creates a chain of towns connected through overlapping 1500 block radii

Chain breaking:

  • If a town in the middle of the chain leaves the nation, the chain is broken
  • Any towns that were only connected through that town will also be removed from the nation
  • Only towns still within the capital’s 5000 block radius or connected through remaining towns will stay in the nation

Chain Stability

Be careful when inviting towns far from the capital. If a connecting town leaves, all towns beyond that connection point will be removed from the nation!

Nations can have a maximum of 3 allies. Choose your alliances carefully!

Nation bonus provides extra claim chunks based on your nation’s population:

  • 30 nation bonus — granted when you create a town
  • +10 nation bonus — for every 25 residents in your nation
    • 40 nation bonus at 25 residents
    • 50 nation bonus at 50 residents
    • 60 nation bonus at 75 residents (maximum)

The maximum nation bonus is 60 chunks at 75 residents.

Nation upkeep is currently disabled. The system is being reworked for a better long-term solution.

Renaming a nation costs 4096 gold. This high cost prevents nation selling and ensures serious commitment to name changes.

Nations provide:

  • Mutual defense — allies help during conflicts
  • Shared intelligence — coordinate on threats
  • Diplomatic weight — larger nations are harder to challenge

Nation benefits:

  • Trade routes — establish safe paths between towns
  • Shared resources — pool materials for large projects
  • Market coordination — avoid competing prices

Work together on:

  • Expansion — coordinate claim strategies
  • Builds — collaborate on large projects
  • Events — participate in nation-wide activities

When in a nation:

  • Communicate — keep allies informed of your plans
  • Respect boundaries — don’t claim too close to allies
  • Contribute — help with nation projects and defense
  • Diplomacy — represent your nation well in interactions
