Communication

Use chat channels, mail, and pings effectively while maintaining good etiquette.

The server uses a channel system for organized communication:

  • Global — all players can see
  • Town — only town members
  • Nation — all nation members
  • Local — nearby players (100 block range)
  • Trade — for trading and shop advertisements

Navigate channels using /ch:

/ch list|ls # List channels you're in and available channels
/ch join|j <channel> # Join a channel in write/read mode
/ch read|r <channel> # Join a channel in read-only mode
/ch leave|l <channel> # Leave a channel

Quick shortcuts for common channels:

/g <message> # Send to global chat
/tc <message> # Send to town chat
/nc <message> # Send to nation chat

Trade channel: Join the Trade channel with /ch join trade or /ch j trade, then type your message normally to send to the trade channel.

Player names: Player names in chat are clickable /res components—click a name to view their residence info.

Premium item display: Premium players can use [item] in their messages to display the item in their main hand in chat.

Private messages:

  • Direct player-to-player
  • Use /msg <player> <message> or /tell
  • Reply with /r

Best practices:

  • Don’t spam messages
  • Respect chat cooldowns
  • Keep messages relevant

Avoid:

  • Excessive caps (ALL CAPS)
  • Spam (repeating messages)
  • Off-topic discussions in wrong channels

Spam includes:

  • Repeating the same message
  • Excessive use of characters (!!!!! or ?????)
  • Rapid-fire messages
  • Advertising repeatedly

Consequences:

  • Mutes for repeated spam
  • Temporary bans for severe spam

Mayors can send serverwide broadcasts as their town:

/townbroadcast <message>

Cost: 40 gold per broadcast
Cooldown: 60 seconds between broadcasts

Use broadcasts to:

  • Announce town events
  • Recruit new residents
  • Make important announcements
  • Coordinate with other towns

Mail commands:

/mail send <player> <message>
/mail read
/mail clear

Use cases:

  • Send messages to offline players
  • Leave important information
  • Coordinate with players in different time zones
