WorldMC 1.1 - Structures and Spawning

We are officially releasing the Structures and Spawning update! WorldMC now has many structures filled with tough mobs and rare loot.

First, a new hub design!

The WorldMC hub is the first server players connect to upon joining. There is now a new hub design to provide players a proper welcoming space for the server.

Players will now always automatically spawn at the center of the new hub, no matter where they logged off. There is also an option to jump down into the survival part of the hub server.

Now, onto the structures!

Structures

All structures in the overworld are in deep ocean, not on land.

You can not place blocks or destroy blocks in structures on WorldMC. You can not use invisible potions.

Mobs inside structures do not drop loot, unless they are a naturally generated mob.

Every player generates loot for themselves upon entering a structure, and the loot they see in the chest is for them only. Every player will have different loot, and it will only be for them.

Once a player opens a chest in a structure, the cooldown until the structure loot regenerates begins. You can still loot chests during a cooldown timer, but they will not regenerate loot for you until your cooldown timer expires. Every player has their own cooldown timer.

Structures might have very hard mobs! It is recommended to bring good gear and go with friends, just in case.

There are currently 40 structures on the server. We have more ready to release, but we want to see how this goes first. We will be officially releasing:

  • 3 Ancient Cities
  • 3 Desert Dungeons
  • 3 Jungle Dungeons
  • 12 Ocean Monuments
  • 2 Trial Chambers
  • 9 Nether Illager Mansions
  • 8 Nether Ports

Let’s explain each structure.

Ancient Cities

Ancient Cities have Warden mobs in them, which can be difficult to kill.

Ancient Cities have a surface entrance, which can be found by exploring the ocean.

Desert Dungeons

Desert Dungeons might be challenging alone, bring good gear and friends!

Ocean Monument Structures are found in the ocean, on the surface level. When you are close to them, they are easy to spot.

These are smaller structures in the Nether, but still dangerous!

There are currently about 8 Nether Ports, and can be found throughout the Nether at the surface level of large lava lakes!

Structures: Conclusion

We are releasing this because we are confident it is ready to go, but glitches or exploits may happen. We will be monitoring the release, and if you see anything not working, please report it. Once we are confident that these structures are all functioning as intended, we will release more structures.

Credit for some of these structures belongs to a datapack we used in world generation, Dungeons and Taverns. Some of the Dungeons were also purchased models online that we felt fit our server

It might be difficult to go alone, be careful!

Other changes (Important!)

  • Town Upkeep will be changing to 9 gold a day on February 17, and the new bankruptcy amount will be -126 gold (14 days of no funding)
  • We are soon going to be adding Nation Upkeep as well, but we will give a warning period before it is added.
  • Maces have been nerfed, they now have a maximum damage cap of 15 full hearts.
  • Shop owners and their staff can now access their shops even in Towny‑protected areas.
  • New safety warning for /qs buy: you’ll get a one‑time caution message before switching a shop to BUY mode.
  • After a successful shop sale, owners get a 5‑minute “gold protection” buff if they enter combat.
  • If you die during that protection window, gold ingots/blocks stay in your inventory.
  • Town mayors can now break shops in their town while sneaking with an axe, even if they don’t own the shop.
  • Disabled the use of some blocks and items that could cause mass grief or lag on the hub (Lava buckets, TNT, mob explosions, observers, etc..)
  • Chat Filter improved
  • New banners on voting sites

Next Update

32Gold here. It took a while for this update.. and we thank you all for your patience. I am still growing into the role of a server owner, and I am learning to not over promise and under deliver. I will say that the next update will come quicker than this one did, and I learned a lot working with this structure plugin. (so hopefully it doesn’t break immediately)
